Recapping the Data-Driven Marketplace Meetup

A few weeks ago, we hosted our second marketplace meetup in San Francisco. The night centered around data-driven marketplaces and we connected with and learned from many smart members of the marketplace community. We had a diverse group of people attending, from founders and product and growth leaders, to data scientists, data engineers, and investors.

We invited three speakers to share their experiences with data: Bala Ganapathy (Product at Instacart; previously at Adara) talked about the levers in logistics that can be pulled to grow supply and demand. Jamie Davidson (Product & Data Platform at Looker; previously at HotelTonight) spoke about the different stages of a company’s data journey. And, Jessica Zuniga (Data & Personalization at Tophatter; previously at LinkedIn) walked us through her experiences building an entire data pipeline on her own.

It was a fantastic evening and for those who weren’t able to join us, we’ll be sharing some of the key takeaways and insights in a series of blog posts in upcoming weeks. Make sure you’re subscribed to our blog so that you don’t miss anything. In the meantime, thanks to all of you who took the time out to join us.  We’re already looking ahead to future events, so if you have any suggestions for topics or themes you’d like to see covered, please drop us a note in the comments section.
